Grid Dynamics and Qubell Team Up to Offer Integrated Solutions to Boost E-Commerce Agility and Time to Market

Grid Dynamics, the leading provider of custom scalable e-commerce technology solutions and pioneer of enterprise clouds, and Qubell, an innovator in application development and configuration management, today announced a multidimensional relationship aimed at helping large e-commerce companies develop, manage and update their online businesses faster and better. The companies are already working together with several customers.

The two companies also announced their first joint offering: a Behavioral Analytics Starter Kit. Developed by Grid Dynamics using Qubell technology, it is available for the Qubell Adaptive PaaS as part of Qubell’s growing pool of reusable components and starter kits aimed at developers of large-scale online systems.

“The e-commerce market is on fire, and companies are rushing to the market with a never-ending stream of new applications and services aimed at delighting their customers and outperforming the competition. They can no longer accept pushing out change once every few months in one giant release,” said Victoria Livschitz, founder and CEO of Qubell. “Together, Grid Dynamics and Qubell are transforming the complex beast that is the software factory behind the world’s largest e-commerce platforms into a fully -automated conveyor belt seamlessly carrying new features to their customers, one good idea at a time.”

“Grid Dynamics is the emerging leader in professional services for building powerful, scalable and innovative e-commerce platforms of the future, and Qubell is the emerging leader in enterprise platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings for large-scale e-commerce companies,” said David Gimpelevich, president and general manager of Grid Dynamics. “Grid Dynamics is also one of the earliest proponents of continuous innovation, for the past five years offering custom release automation solutions. By working together with Qubell, we can offer fast-moving e-commerce companies a level of speed, agility and control that was not previously available.”

New Starter Kit Packages Grid Dynamics Expertise

The Qubell Adaptive PaaS is designed to be extensible through an array of reusable components and starter kits from Qubell and third-party developers. The Behavioral Analytics Starter Kit from Grid Dynamics is the first third-party starter kit available for the Qubell Adaptive PaaS.

This kit is a complete analytics lab on the cloud, where Java developers can learn how to create, deploy and manage powerful behavioral analytics applications using a Hadoop stack on an Amazon cloud. This kit reduces the learning curve and can be used as the basis for many new projects that require a Hadoop-based analytics platform. Java developers who have no background in Hadoop can be running and writing Hadoop applications in a few hours with the Behavioral Analytics Starter Kit. This starter kit is available as open source under an Apache 2.0 license.

“Grid Dynamics chose behavioral analytics as our first Qubell Adaptive PaaS starter kit because we have an enormous amount of expertise in this area,” said Gimpelevich. “We see this as the beginning of many things our two companies can do together.”

The Behavioral Analytics Starter Kit is available from the Qubell website at
